Process the Election with Us
Managing Fear + Catastrophizing with Dan, Josh & Joy
The You Have Permission team of Dan Koch, Josh Gilbert and Joy Vetterlein sit down to process the election a day later. Dan puts on his therapy hat and offers some general coping mechanisms and how to deal with the catastrophizing thoughts blue voters might have around a Trump presidency. We also discuss listener comments and questions, and talk through what we’re learning and taking away from the experience.
Listen if you could use some friends to process with and find a bit of hope, but skip this one if you’re looking for detailed political analysis or if you just need to stay in your anger a little longer.

Dan, Josh and Joy, thank you for sharing your raw processing. This helped me so much! I felt solidarity with you all and also was reminded of tools and things that contribute to my catastrophizing and my clients. As a therapist it has been so hard this week to process my own emotions and show up for my clients in the varying places they find themselves. This podcast was so refreshing to listen to while I spent some time outside deep cleaning my car. As I took care of my own things my mind and heart were also cared for by your words. As I headed to work after listening I felt some renewed strength. Thank you and may you all find some rest and comfort too!
